LG to Introduce Apple AirPlay to Hotel Room TVs in 2021 – Get the Details Here

At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) held this year, Apple, the tech giant based in Cupertino, introduced a fresh attribute named AirPlay. This feature enables users to share various media such as videos, photos, music, and more from their Apple devices to their smart TVs, speakers, and Apple TV.

Now, a new report claims that LG Electronics is one of the first TV manufacturers to support Apple’s AirPlay plug-in, bringing easy access to ‌AirPlay‌ TVs in hotel rooms. LG announced later this year that it will introduce LG Pro: Centric Smart Hotel TVs with built-in ‌AirPlay‌ technology, MacRumors reports.

“This is a major step forward for in-room entertainment in the travel and hospitality industry and highlights how closely we are listening to the needs of consumers who increasingly demand simple access to their personal media options on the biggest screen, wherever they are.” said Michael Kosla, vice president of LG Business Solutions.

“Hotels that offer this feature gain an immediate foothold with travelers using Apple devices, increasing customer satisfaction and distinguishing themselves from real local competition,” added Kosla.

According to a MacRumors report, LG worked with Apple to create an easy-to-use AirPlay solution. iPhone users can scan a QR code to access AirPlay, allowing them to securely play content from an iPhone or iPad to a hotel room TV without additional equipment.

LG said AirPlay‌ will work on TVs it’s releasing this year as well as “models from last year.”

With Apple AirPlay, your iPhone, iPad, and Mac can learn your preferences using machine learning. This means your devices can understand your favorite content, when you want to listen to it and where you usually enjoy it. Apple also makes it possible to launch an AirPlay session to access third-party audio apps from the HomePod with just your voice, without having to launch it on an iPhone or iPad.
